Dr. Emily Cunnings on being a woman physician in a safety net hospital.

Today we’re getting under the hood with Emily Cunnings a daughter, wife, serious cat mom and an Internal Medicine physician. 

As a third year Internal Medicine resident at Temple University Hospital, Emily plans to start her career this June in hospital medicine. 

She calls herself a true “Pennsylvania,” as she been in all corners of the state. Born and raised is suburban West Chester where she started her medical career as a pharmacy technician, to rural medicine where she completed her medical school training at the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, and now spends time in the hustle bustle of urban health at Temple University Hospital treating a medically complex population in a safety net hospital.

Emily hopes to offer a unique perspective on being a woman in medicine who is still in the training phase of her career.
